The Digestive System of the Sunset Cup Coral (Leptopsammia Pruvoti )
The Sunset Cup Coral mainly eat small creatures that float by them such as plankton. First the Coral takes in its food through its mouth by catching it with their tiny poisonous tentacles and bringing it to their mouth. Next, the Corals food goes down to their stomach cavity. They do not have any real organs that help them break down food but they have enzymes that are produced by special cells in their stomach cavity. then any undigestible material is regurgitated back through their mouth. So basically, the coral catches food with their tentacles, puts it in its mouth, uses enzymes to digest the food, then throws back up undigestible items.
